Storage:
I recommend rolling your corset up in a cloth and storing in a drawer.  Lay your DRY corset flat and place a small hand towel over it.  Start at one side and roll the corset up with the towel, like a cake roll.     Some people even choose to have a small box for their corset, like a shoebox.  Store your corset in your lingerie drawer, in the closet, anywhere clean and dry, away from sunlight and insects.  Corsets are susceptible to moths, be aware of where you store it.

Cleaning:
Most people prefer hand cleaning their corsets, but if you would rather have the dry cleaned, it's a perfectly acceptable way to care for your corset.  Please be sure your dry cleaner knows that your corset has METAL BONING, and proper cleaning methods should be used to prevent deterioration/breakage/rusting.

To launder it yourself, there are several steps to follow.  First and foremost, always wear something under your corset if possible.  You can purchase a corset chemise, wear a tank top, or even a tube top underneath if possible in order to keep natural body oils from building up on your corset.  When necessary, you may carefully spot clean your corset.  The "Tide" pen works wonders on small spots, but BE SURE your fabric won't be affected by it before you use it by testing it in an inconspicuous area.  Otherwise, a damp cloth with a tiny bit of mild soap is perfect for cleaning up those pesky spots.  I don't recommend that you wash your corset too often, but pew, it will become necessary sooner or later if you wear it a lot.  To hand wash your corset, fill up your sink with warm water and a mild soap (no bleach).  Submerge your corset, and GENTLY massage it to get all of the oils and smells out.  You can give it a quick wash, or let it soak, but do not let it soak for more than an hour.  Rinse it out in the same way, very gently.  Then hang it up to dry.  I recommend hanging it outside in a sunny area to speed drying, but for those of you who live in cooler climates, this might not be possible in the cooler seasons!  If so, hang it up in your bathroom, and let it drip into the shower or sink.  It is imperative that your corset dry as quickly as possible but DO NOT put it in the dryer.  If your corset remains wet too many times, for too long, you may end up with rust spots.  Your bones are properly cut and tipped, but they are coated with white plastic which may crack, and leaving it wet for too long will allow the water to seep into all of the tiniest cracks, exposing the metal.

And remember Febreeze will take out that musty club smell (or any other stinkiness), especially if you are around cigarette smoke.  Give it a good misting, inside and out, and hang it outside, or in a sunny window overnight.
