Jupiter Moon 3 makes three kinds of corsets:  custom, "off the rack" (also known as "pre-made" corsets), and "standard sized" corsets.

An "off the rack" corset (or "pre-made" corset) is bought in a store or on line, and is made "as is," meaning it's made to standard measurements.  You will just choose the size that most closely fits your measurements.  An "off the rack" corset is already made and is not customizable.

A "standard sized" corset isn't made yet.  But instead of ordering custom, you pick from a list of standard sizes and proceed to order your corset like you would order a custom corset, telling me what fabric you want to use, what accessories and add-ons you want to add, and etc.  This is a split difference between an "off the rack" corset and a custom.  It's more affordable than custom sized, because I don't have to spend a lot of time measuring out a brand new pattern for you.  Instead, I simply cut out a standard sized Jupiter Moon 3 pattern.  It saves me time, so it saves you money.  You may still have a standard sized corset made however you like, in whatever style you like, and with whatever fabric, accessories, and add-ons you want.  Ordering a standard sized corset is an easier solution if you're concerned about taking your own measurements for a fully custom corset.

A custom corset isn't made yet.  But unlike a standard sized corset, a custom made corset is made to fit every curve of your body.  With Jupiter Moon 3, you will take ten measurements on average, horizontal and vertical, and with correct measurements, it is guaranteed to fit you perfectly.  This option will provide the best fit.  Every body is different, and custom ensures you fit every point on your torso, rather than just your waist.  You may customize a custom made corset however you like, in whatever style you like, and with whatever fabric, accessories, and add-ons you want.  This is the best and only option if you are interested in training.  Please see my FAQ page for more info on training.

When you try on an "off the rack" or "standard sized" corset, it may fit in one area, but it's either too tight or too loose in another.  A corset should fit snugly but comfortably, and this can be achieved with either type of corset, but custom will most likely provide the best fit.

If you are interested in training, custom is the only way to go.  Standard corsets are usually not as fully shaped as a custom corset.

The benefits of a custom corset are many!  First, it will usually be more comfortable.  Second, it will generally accentuate your natural curves and shape better than an off the rack corset.  And last, if you are long waisted or short waisted, you won't be likely to find an "off the rack" corset that fits you correctly.  If you're short waisted, an "off the rack" corset is likely to be too tall for you, and the top of the corset will be up to your chin, or dig into your underarms.  If you're long waisted, a corset is most likely to be too short on you, and won't cover you properly, so you'll fall out of an overbust, or if it's an underbust, it won't cover your whole ribcage.  With a custom corset, you measure not only your horizontal measurements, but vertical, too.  With proper and correct measurements, your corset will never be too tall or too short.

What's the difference between "custom," "off the rack" and "standard sized" corsets?
